Travel
By rail, road, or air there are myriad paths leading to Toronto. If you're trying to figure out what's best for you, then check out Toronto Tourism's page on getting here - you'll find lots of other useful information about the city there as well. Travelocity's Guide to Toronto will also provide tons of useful information - not just on how to get here, but on what to do once you've arrived.
Via Rail is the primary passenger rail carrier within Canada. If planning to travel from the United States via rail you'll need to book with Amtrak.
All Canadian, American and international air carriers, including Canada's national airline Air Canada, fly through Toronto's Pearson Interntional Airport. Check their web site for schedules, and links to various airlines.
Assuming you're flying, then you'll need to know about...
Getting to and from the airport
By TTC (public transit)
- on arrivals level of terminals 2 and 3 take bus 192 to the Kipling station; approximately 20 minutes from last airport stop with no other stops
- see the TTC route schedule PDF for details - frequency of service varies depending on day of week and time of travel
- at Kipling station transfer to the east bound line to Yonge Street (there is only one option at this station, you cannot go wrong)
- at Yonge Street station, transfer to the southbound line (look for stairways with the big S, indicating southbound), go two stops & get off at College station.
- at College station there are numerous options:
- The simplest is to use exit marked “College Street Streetcars Eastbound” onto Yonge Street and walk one block south to Gerrard, turn right onto Gerard and the hotel is evident
- You can also walk most of the way underground through the College Park mini shopping mall: walk past Dominion, then past Tim Hortons, then veer to the left, then right, and look for the exit adjacent to DownUnder & there you will see the hotel in front of you.
-
- fare: $2.50; $1.70 for seniors; exact change required
- disadvantage: for those with luggage, there are numerous stairs via this route; there is an elevator at Kipling and Yonge stations
- this route extensively used by airline crews and airport staff
By AIRPORT EXPRESS bus line
- these are deluxe buses; very comfortable; all wheelchair equipped
- see the signs on the arrivals level of all terminals
- departures from the airport every 20-30 minutes from 4:55 am to 0:55am
- departures from the hotel every 20-30 minutes from 4:00am to 23:45 pm
- the bus is direct to the hotel; no changes or transfers; good for those with luggage
- the bus serves 8 downtown hotels; the Delta Chelsea is the 2nd last on the route
- duration: approximately 60 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic
- fare: $15.50 one way; $26.75 return; 10% discount if purchased online

By Limousine
- A reliable limousine service to and from Toronto airport is the AIRLINE LIMOUSINE company.
- If your trip to Toronto was long and tiring, look for the limousine signs at the airport and ask the dispatcher on the sidewalk at the airport to order you an AIRLINE LIMOUSINE. The professionally driven limo will arrive within minutes and take you to the hotel in record time. Fare: $47.00
- Those requiring wheelchairs should ask the dispatcher to request an AIRLINE LIMOUSINE wheelchair van; estimated time 15-20 minutes.
- To reserve your limo to return to the airport: 416-675-3638.
By taxi
- taking a taxi from the airport is not recommended
