| Information for Presenters of Contributed Papers and Posters |
The Canadian Health Libraries Association / Association des bibliothèques de la santé du Canada invites you to submit contributed papers or posters for the 2007 annual meeting, to be held in Ottawa, Ontario, May 28 – June 1, 2007. Papers or posters will describe innovative programs, studies, best practices, or new research findings. Papers should relate to the overall conference theme “Capitalizing on Health Partnerships”.
The 2007 CHLA/ABSC conference will explore health partnerships in the broadest sense. To be excellent health librarians today demands that we be outward looking, forging alliances, collaborating and sharing development activities so that our user communities have access to the best information, resources and services. We invite you to look outward and share with your colleagues how you have explored and developed your skills, understanding and services by capitalizing on the potential of health partnerships.
Though papers will be accepted from a broad range of topics, we invite papers that address, in particular, activities in the following areas:
Digital Initiatives (digitization projects, access to and management of digital resources, research in the use of digital information, e-licensing)
Knowledge Transfer (supporting evidence-based practice, research in knowledge transfer, systematic reviews, communities of practice)
International Librarianship (partnerships and initiatives with libraries in other countries, international programs in librarianship, cross-border partnerships in health information)
Open Access (research in Open Access, OA projects and partnerships, status of OA publishing)
Accepted contributed papers will each be allotted approximately 20 minutes for presentation, plus 5-10 minutes for questions.
To be considered, please submit the following information by December 15, 2006.
Structured abstracts should follow the JCHLA/JABSC Instructions to Authors at http://pubs.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/jchla/jchla26/c04-900.pdf
Please note that conference registration fees will not be waived for presenters of contributed papers.
All those submitting abstracts for contributed papers will be contacted by the Program Committee by January 19, 2007.
Please send your submission to Program Committee member, Marsha Maslove, at mmaslove@qch.on.ca
For more information please contact the Program Chair, Bev Brown at beverly.brown@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca

Poster sessions comprise visual presentations of information about research or other projects. They offer conference delegates a less formal alternative to contributed papers and plenary sessions, as well as an opportunity to interact directly with those responsible for the presentations.
Though posters will be accepted from a broad range of topics, we invite posters that address, in particular, activities in the following areas: Digital Initiatives, Knowledge Transfer, International Librarianship and Open Access.
Poster presenters will be allotted a display board (4’ x 8’) and table space. A limited number of electrical connections will be available for electronic poster presentations. If you are planning an electronic poster presentation, you must bring your own laptop computer as well as a standalone version of your presentation. Internet connections will not be available for posters due to the high cost of connections in the hotel.
You will be required to staff your print or electronic poster during a portion of the conference (May 30); posters will be open to viewing by conference delegates for two days of the conference (May 30-31).
To submit a poster for consideration, please send an email by December 15, 2006 with the following information:
