To help with your poster preparations, please keep in mind the following details:
Display: Poster boards are 6’ x 6’ square. Mounting pins will be provided. If you wish to supplement your paper presentation with a laptop display, please let us know by February 8th. You must bring your own laptop computer. Wireless internet access will be available. Tables will be shared between two presenters. To keep the conference as green as possible, if you wish to make handouts available consider instead providing a sign-up sheet for e-mailing delegates additional information after the conference.
Set-up time: Wednesday, June 9th 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. in the Limestone City Ballroom.
Moderated Poster Session: The moderated poster session, a plenary session, will take place from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9th in the Limestone City Ballroom. Standing beside their poster, presenter(s) will provide a take-home message as a microphone is passed from one presenter to the next. A two minute maximum time per poster will be strictly observed. Please staff your poster until 5:00 p.m. The moderated poster presentation format will allow delegates to put a face to the poster and the ability to seek you out during the conference for further discussion. You will not be required to staff your poster at any other time.
Take down time: Thursday, June 10 3:30-4:00 p.m.
Poster Suggestions
- Include the title, authors, affiliations, and a description of the research, highlighting the major elements that are covered in the structured abstract
- Where possible substitute tables, charts, diagrams, symbols or photographs for text
- Posters should be readable from about 1.5-2 metres (4-6 feet)
- Any necessary text should be in large print and limited to highlighting the topic
- Material should be read from left to right and from top to bottom
- Keep some white space - don’t overwhelm the reader with too much text or graphics
- Use color creatively
- If you laminate the poster, consider using a low-glare or matte finish
