Malls

There are many, many malls in the Calgary area, we can't list them all. Below is only a taste of what we have to offer.

Chinook Centre
6455 Macleod Trail SW
Close to the downtown core, Chinook Centre has over 200 retail stores, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Sephora, Pottery Barn, and Williams & Sonoma. At the beginning of May, they welcomed Tiffany's (yes, THAT Tiffany's!) and Victoria's Secret as tenants.

CrossIron Mills
Balzac, Alberta
Visiting this mall is definitely a day trip. Located a few minutes north of Calgary, it's the first enclosed shopping mall to be built in Western Canada in 20 years. It has lots of shops and even has a movie theatre. Check out the outlet stores for Banana Republic, La Vie en Rose, Michael Kors, and Brooks Brothers. There's also a Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World with 150,000 sq ft of gear for life outdoors.

Market Mall
3625 Shaganappi Trail NW
Located in northwest Calgary near the new Alberta Children's Hospital and the University of Calgary, Market Mall was voted the top Shopping Centre in Calgary for the 2009 & 2010 Readers' Choice Awards.

Downtown

Downtown Calgary is hopping during weekdays when it largely caters to the lunchtime shoppers seeking a retail escape from their glass and steel office towers. A stroll along Stephen Avenue (a pedestrian mall) will bring you to numerous restaurants, boutiques.

Below is a list of shops in and around the downtown core. 

CORE – TD Square & Holt Renfrew Building
TD Square, The CORE Building (formerly known as the Calgary Eaton Centre,) and The Holt Renfrew Building.  Large downtown shopping centre complex connected by Calgary's unique +15 indoor walkway system. Hundreds of stores, including newly renovated Holt Renfrew, The Bay and more!
This complex was featured heavily in the movie Waydowntown.

Fashion Central
Newly opened Fashion Central is a retail complex situated at Stephen Avenue and 1st Street SW. Its focus is the display and sale of unique contemporary and cutting-edge fashion. Including stores like Murale, Betsey Johnson, Bibelot and deVille luxury coffee & pastries.

Art Central
Art Central is a visual arts complex at the corner of Centre Street and 7th Avenue in downtown Calgary that houses studios, art galleries, shops, as well as a restaurant and café. Check out Shisomiso, a boutique, gallery, and work space showcasing women's clothing by young Canadian designers.

Lammle's Western Wear & Tack
Lammle's, with several shops throughout town, is where Calgarians head to get "duded up" with hats, boots, and westernwear in preparation for Stampede, or for your average day at the office. Stop by the Stephen Avenue location and pick up a giant belt buckle or a pair of chaps to wear home!

17th Avenue & Environs

Discover a chic and unique shopping district - 17th Avenue provides a wide variety of shops and services which offer timeless styles and up-to-the-minute trends. For 25 years, this famous Avenue has been known as the “pulse of Calgary" and most recently the "Red Mile."
  
Gravity Pope Shoes
Gravitypope provides an extensive selection of footwear for customers who want something different and unique, whether it be hand made, comfortable, sporty, vegetarian, or ethically made. Some featured labels are Audley, Camper, Chie Mihara, Cydwoq, Fiorentini + Baker, Fly London, and Canadian-designed Fluevog.

Purr Clothing and Accessories

Rubaiyat
Purveyors of "fine handicrafts" including exquisite jewelery, art glass, ceramics and tableware.

Blame Betty
So you want something with a pinup or rockabilly twist? Blame Betty is a store with all you need to emulate that poster girl from the 50s! Check out Dick and Jane, the next-door brother and sister  store for even more fun!

Reid's on 17th
Located at 710 17 Avenue SW, this stationary and gift shop will entice you with their fab window displays, fun toys and gifts, enormous selection of cards and stationary including fine pens.

Sentry Box
Billed as Canada's largest adventure gaming and science fiction and fantasy book store, Sentry Box has much to offer people to love to "game it up." Board games, cards, miniatures, and books collide in their 13,000 sq ft of fun. Located at 1835 - 10th Ave SW, not far from 17th avenue.

Steeling Home
A "modern general store" where you can find  hooks and books, jewelry and homewares, rugs & toys, unique, vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces. All kinds of treasures and surprises to engage your senses!

Pudding Yarn
Just off 17th is this drool-worthy knitting store offering tools, patterns and a wide array of fine yarns - just remember to leave those needles in your checked baggage!

ZsaZsa's Hat Salon
Located in the historic Devenish Building, this is the place for all things hat and fascinator! The salon represents a full range of styles by the world’s best designers; the inventory is kept fresh and dynamic by regular showcasing of new milliners.

Cat's Eye Vintage
Cat's Eye Vintage is a fabulous 6300 sq ft vintage & retro clothing store for men & women specializing costumes rentals as well as furniture & collectibles! Just a few blocks East of 17th Avenue, at 614 10th Ave SW between 6th & 7th street in the old Alberta Boot Factory.

Kensington

Welcome to Calgary’s village in the city, where people live, work, shop and play. Centrally located streets are ultra pedestrian-friendly; shops, restaurants and services (there are about 250!) are a unique and complimentary collection of cheap to chic.

Purr & Purr Petite
Purr's second Calgary location (see Purr, under 17th Avenue) lives in Kensington, as does Purr's smaller children's clothing and toy store.

The Earth Collection
A clothing store with a wide range of men's and women's apparel made with the basic philosophy of respect for the environment we live in and the people we work with. Located at #2 338 10 Street NW.

Charisma
A huge and tremendous seletion of punk & rock and metal band t-shirts from all over the world. Also boasts a large variety of stickers and patches, rings and necklaces, belt buckles and head bands, caps and beanies, posters and flags, ashtrays and wrist bands.

Livingstone & Cavell, Extraordinary Toys
An amazing place for little kids and grown-up kids to get lost in! This store stocks unique toys and gifts from around the world, including clockwork toys, collectibles, model trains and more.

Pages on Kensington
Calgary's favourite independent bookshop and literary meeting place! With over 10,000 titles in stock and a friendly staff of avid readers, this is a beautiful place to spend an hour, or two, or five...

Inglewood

Calgary's "hipstoric" neighbourhood, Inglewood boasts a number of antique shops, clothing, art and jewelry boutiques, used music, army surplus and collectibles and much, much more.

Galleria
The Galleria represents more than 350 local and Canadian artisans. Throughout the 9500 square feet of display area you will find pottery by 28 potters, childrens clothing and handknits, wooden toys, jewellery and gourmet food products.

Fair's Fair "for book lovers"
A huge, lovely, used book mecca with 4 locations in Calgary, including one in Inglewood. Fair's Fair offers quality books at fair prices and with exceptional service! We probably shouldn't have sent you here... ;)

Circa
A one of a kind shop specializing in mid-century-modern hand-blown art glass from around the world.

Junktiques
A wide selection of antiques, including English Canadian, French Canadian, Doukhabor pieces. They have recently added many antiques from China and Eastern Europe to their stock.

Suzie Q Beads
