The conference’s theme of cascading waterfalls seems appropriate for Jennifer, who is accustomed to making a splash. She spent many years as a competitive swimmer, starting in childhood, continuing throughout university and later as an adult swimming at the Masters level. While enjoying a recent foray into running, she hopes to be competing in the pool again by September. “The water is calling me back.”
Jennifer also enjoys parenting two small boys “who can’t figure out if I’m a librarian or some sort of health care professional. For some reason, they think I know all things health-related.”
Why should I attend CHLA-ABSC 2012?
The conference is “a great opportunity to learn about the best of librarians and librarianship in this country.”
Jennifer began her library career in an American college and retained ties to the U.S. library community after returning to Canada. “As a result, I overlooked some great opportunities for learning and sharing in my own country. Since becoming involved with the CHLA, I’ve become aware of the great work going on in health libraries here in Canada and I encourage others to take advantage of this chance to network and get involved in their profession.”
