Tim CHLA on Facebook and Twitter...CHLA/ABSC has had a Facebook group page for a few years now. Now you can also follow us on Twitter @chlaabsc. I've been experimenting with linking all of this up, so now, thanks to TwitterFeed, the web site's RSS feed is posting to Twitter, and with the Facebook application RSS Graffiti, the feed should also be hitting the group's Facebook wall. Part of the point of this post is to test all of that! Tim Webmaster’s Timeline
Upgraded to Drupal 6...Upgraded the site to Drupal 6 on the weekend. Wasn't a cakewalk...
Changes to keep track of... CHLA website move this weekend (October 17-18, 2009)Update: Sunday afternoon Looks like the domain name servers have been updated. Now working on restoring email forwards, and distribution lists. Like packing, when travelling, I'm always relieved to figure out what one thing I invariably forgot when I get to my destination. Of course I forgot at least one thing in this whole operation too. I forgot to get the email distribution lists off the old host before the domain change happened. Oh well, I can reconstruct those... Hope that was the worst of it! (yes, I'm touching wood!) --------- Moving to a new host...Things to do:
Issues with PDF files and FirefoxApologies folks, but it seems we're having a problem with PDF files from the site not loading properly with Firefox (IE and Safari seem to work fine).
Updated award winners...Been a bit tardy in site updating, but today I've updated the awards pages to include those members who received honours at the recent conference. Congratulations to Ada Ducas (Margaret Ridley Charlton Award), Trish Chatterley’s (Emerging Leader Award), Dorothy Fitzgerald and Tom Flemming (Honorary Lifetime Membership). Member only section for CHIPIG websiteAt the request of Taryn Lenders, CHIPIG's new webmaster, created a members only section within the CHIPIG site. Leadership Interest Group Page and Forum createdWith the establishment of the Leadership Interest Group, a new page (under "Chapters and Community") and forum for the group have been created. Membership pages moved up a levelWith Trina's development of separate pages for each membership category, it made sense to move membership up a level on the nav menu, with the category pages being nested below it. Mission statement updated on site template...Based on the new Vision and Mission developed by the Board at the Winter 2008 board meeting in Vancouver, I've updated the site parameters to put the new wording the Footer: Welcome to CHIPIG!CHLA-ABSC is happy to announce that we are now hosting the CHIPIG (Consumer Health Information Providers Interest Group) web site at chla-absc.ca. The chipig.ca domain will continue to exist, but until we work out some domain forwarding issues, you can find CHIPIG at http://www.chla-absc.ca/chipig/ Tim Collapsable menus enabledI've finally found and added a module that will allow the navigation menus on the left to collapse when you click on them. So, any of the menus that have the little black arrow to the left can now be collapsed. I've left the default to be expanded for now. Tim Site's back - you can log in again! As a number of you pointed out to me at the end of the week, whenever you tried to log into the site, it just put you back at the home page, or log in screen, but didn't actually log you in. All members and former members added to the siteOkay, it's done. I just hope it worked!
