CHLA/ABSC and OHLA Affiliate Agreement

Affiliate Reports:

Designs and develops healthcare related software solutions.

o       

Interprets written business requirements and technical specification documents.

o       

Prototypes potential software solutions.

o       

Performs coding to written technical specifications.

o       

Provides estimates of timelines for development of software solutions.

o       

Follows Agile Software Development best practices.

o       

Investigates, analyzes and documents reported defects.

o       

Performs maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.

o       

Creates, documents and implements unit test plans and scripts.

o       

Creates and maintains technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.

o       

Develops application roadmaps.

 

·        

Performs 2nd and 3rd level incident and problem management of clinical and business software applications developed by the department.

  •  
    • Provides 24/7 on-call support involving accessing multiple systems and resolving problems.
    • Provides support that may require on-site testing during non-standard business hours in clinical departments (e.g., Emergency Dept., Operating Room, Nursing Unit) in order to resolve production issues in clinical systems.
    • Monitors applications to ensure high availability.
    • Investigates, analyses, and repairs/resolves issues with either workarounds or permanent solutions.
    • Creates and maintains support scripts and related documentation.
    • Facilitates and contributes to interactions between users and other support teams.

Performs continuous improvement and maintenance of existing applications.

    • Enhances existing software products based on user feedback and change requests.
    • Coordinates activities with Product Management, Architecture, other technical groups and application users.

Researches, evaluates and designs technical solutions.

Provides some leadership to junior level positions.

    • Mentors the Analyst; checks/reviews work performed, as appropriate.
    • Works in a collaborative manner, including providing assistance and assigning related work to the Analyst positions.

Works with and within the standards and processes outlined by SIMS Enterprise Architecture team.

  •  
    • Works within SIMS Enterprise Architecture standards, consults and collaborates with the Enterprise Architecture team, ensuring all standards are met.
    • Collaborates with the SIMS Enterprise Architecture team in the creation and design of enterprise architectures/ systems and the adoption of standards.
    • Assists in the creation of technical Requests for Proposals for enterprise solutions for SIMS, UHN, and provincial initiatives. 
    • Contributes to the technical evaluation of proposals received through the procurement process.
