Mohawk College will be offering LIBR10004 Health Libraries and Resources online this winterThe Library and Information Technician program at Mohawk College will be offering LIBR10004 Health Libraries and Resources, an online course, in the Winter 2009 term. Course Description Learn about key health information resources in all formats and identify the features and issues of different types of health libraries. Develop skills in searching the major indexes, electronic databases and the World Wide Web to find quality information to meet the reference needs of your varied clients. Option course. Prerequisite: Information Work III (LIBRLT425). You will need access to a Pentium class computer with a recent version of Windows on which you can install FirstClass® software. You also need access to the Internet and a current WWW browser in the same computer. The fee for this course is $255.27 for Canadian residents Registration begins on November 17, 2008 at http://ce.mohawkcollege.ca The course starts on January 9, 2009 and ends on April 17, 2009. The instructor is Maureen Price, M.L.S. Participants in the course must meet the prerequisite course requirement, which is Mohawk’s LIBRLT425 Information Work III, or be a graduate librarian or library technician. If you do not meet these requirements but have equivalent work experience, contact the Program Manager for permission.
