CISTI's consultation process

On April 7-8, NRC-CISTI held a Vision Workshop entitled “Creating a Strategic Vision for the New CISTI”. I was invited to participate, representing the health community, but unfortunately could not attend. Replacing me was Jim Henderson, Health Sciences Librarian from McGill. Participants included a variety of CISTI staff and Directors, including the National Science Library (NSL) Transformation Core Team. Internal Clients included representation from NRC, Clusters, and selected NRC Programs. External Clients and Partners from Consortiums, Industry, Other Government Departments, the Canadian Health Libraries Association and a Subject Matter Expert were also included for consultation. A draft high-level strategy for the new CISTI has been developed and CISTI will be consulting further with NRC, the Advisory Board for CISTI, and the CISTI Committee on Health Sciences Information over the next three weeks, as well as other stakeholder groups. Donna Meighan, Partnership Development Officer for CISTI’s Health Portfolio will be presenting the CISTI Update at the 2009 CHLA/ABSC Annual Conference in Winnipeg and will provide further information on CISTI’s planning activities up to that point.
