Season’s Greetings from your CHLA/ABSC Board of Directors

On behalf of the CHLA/ABSC Board of Directors I would like to wish all our members and their families a safe and happy holiday season.  It has been a good year for the Association due in no small part to the strength and commitment of our members.

You are invited to participate in a study benchmarking Canadian health facility libraries. Your answers to survey questions may ultimately provide you and your fellow Canadian healthcare librarians with statistical data to support library management decisions and future directions.

The CHLA/ABSC 2011-2012 Annual Report is now available. Please see the attached document.

The CHLA/ABSC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of a CE Special Committee.

The responsibilities and deliverables of the Committee are identified in the attached Terms of Reference. We are seeking three individuals with a strong interest in continuing education to serve on the Committee for a period of two years.

CHLA/ABSC has added its voice to protest the cutbacks at Library and Archives Canada (LAC), as well as the closures and downsizing of many federal libraries.  See our letter to the Hon. James Moore attached.  CAUT has launched a campaign to Save Libraries and Archives - go to their site and see how you can become involved.
