Change to conference CE offeringsTwo of the Continuing Education workshops at the CHLA/ABSC 2010 conference have been cancelled:
Image and Presence BuildingDid you know there are only 14 certified image consultants in Canada? Did you know one of them was giving a Continuing Education session at CHLA/ABSC? Yes, Catherine Bell, who you may have seen quoted on image issues in the paper (she's been quoted a lot, look it up!), will be delivering TWO sessions! This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get training on how to look your professional best from someone who knows a lot about the subject.
Librarians and Patient SafetyYou've probably heard of Lorri Zipperer, so I'm thrilled she's coming to deliver this continuing education session at CHLA/ABSC 2010. She's delivered similar sessions on the topic of the librarian's role in patient safety for SLA. She was a founding staff member of the National Patient Safety Foundation as the information project manager. She currently serves as the Cybrarian for AHRQ’s Patient Safety Net. She was published in the Quality and Safety in Health Care (ISSN 1475-3898) on opportunities for librarians to partner with clinicians to improve patient safety.
Lower prices for CE sessions! So, obviously, because I'm chairing the CE committee at CHLA/ABSC 2010, I'm pretty excited about the continuing education sessions for our upcoming conference. But one of the things I'm most thrilled about is the chance to introduce what I like to call 'recession pricing'!
