Conference Theme
  • The theme of the 2018 Canadian Health Libraries Association / Association des bibliotèques de la santé du Canada (CHLA/ABSC) Annual Conference is:

    Rant and Roar / Tempêter et Rugir

    This theme, which is inspired by a lively Newfoundland folk song, conveys passion, excitement, and great things!

    Through a series of plenary and parallel sessions, posters, and continuing education workshops, the scientific program will cover the following sub-themes:

    • Emerging Roles for Health Librarians

    • Novel Teaching Developments

    • Professionalism and Leadership in Health Libraries

    • Value and Impact Assessment

    • Innovations in Collections, Programming, and Space

    • Collaborations

    • Other topics about which to rant and roar

Keynote Speakers
  • Opening Keynote: Dr. Terry-Lynn Young, Memorial University

    Closing Keynote: Dr. Andrew Furey, Team Broken Earth

    Dr. Andrew Furey is an orthopedic trauma surgeon and founder of Team Broken Earth. Team Broken Earth is a volunteer task force of physicians, nurses, and physiotherapists who are committed to a sustained medical relief effort in Haiti to help rebuild and reinforce the healthcare system in one of the poorest countries in the western world.
